NVIDIA’s big holiday sale offers great savings on Android games available on its SHIELD family of devices and PC games available on its cloud-based GeForce NOW streaming service.

A nice thing about the holiday season is that even after Santa makes a visit and then departs for the frozen north to put the elves to work on next year’s effort, those of us left to cope in the real world can find relief in the form of awesome sales. One such sale on new NVIDIA SHIELD games is running from now through January 4th. It offers cost-conscious consumers the opportunity to stock up on some of the leading Android titles available for NVIDIA SHIELD devices.
The games are available as part of NVIDIA’s speedy streaming service, GeForce NOW. Once you have paid for a given title, you can use it with any SHIELD device you like, running at 1080p and 60fps. So, just what’s available as part of the current sale?
Through the end of the day, you can purchase The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt at a discount of 50 percent. It’s the only game on the list with an expiration date ahead of the 4th of January, and the discount is considerable given the title’s popularity and relative youth (it released earlier this year).
A generous 50% discount also applies to Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power, Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas, Q.U.B.E.: Director’s Cut, The Battle of Sol, Chariot, Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved, Heckabomb, Pure Pool, and Killing Floor: Calamity. The sale also includes Whispering Willows and Never Alone, both listed with 60% savings, and Sublevel Zero for 25% less than usual.
It can sometimes be difficult to take advantage of the great sales that come along this time of year, because you’ve already spent so much money making sure there were presents in stockings and beneath the tree. If Santa’s generosity included some portraits of Andrew Jackson on green paper, though, now is a good time to put that new wealth to use, while you can choose from a bounty of must-play titles.
